Lifetime Climate Controlled Storage is known as the only climate-controlled storage facility in Iowa Park. In 2026 we added something new: 12 outdoor drive-up storage units at 400 W Park Avenue in Iowa Park, about 10 minutes west of Wichita Falls. They are 8x20 steel container units (160 sq ft), each with its own roll-up door, set right on our property alongside the climate-controlled building.
If you have been waiting for a lower-cost, park-at-your-door option from the highest-rated storage facility in the area, this is it.
What you get with a drive-up unit here
- Park at your roll-up door. Load and unload straight between your tailgate and the unit. No hallways, no carts, no stairs.
- Brand-new steel units. Our 8x20 containers were installed in 2026. Tight, clean, weather-resistant steel construction with smooth roll-up doors, not decades-old metal buildings.
- 160 square feet each. Comparable to a standard 10x20, enough for the boxed contents of a 2 to 3 bedroom home, a full workshop of tools, or business inventory.
- 24/7 access, 365 days a year. The units sit outside the main building, so you drive up to your door any time.
- Priced below our indoor units. No climate control means a lower rate, and right now the first full month is 50% off, applied automatically at checkout.
- Month-to-month, online move-in. Reserve in about 5 minutes and move in the same day. No office visit, no long-term contract.
Drive-up vs indoor climate-controlled: which should you rent?
We rent both on the same property, so we have no reason to steer you wrong. The honest rule: match the unit to what you are storing.
| Drive-up 8x20 | Indoor climate-controlled | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Tools, equipment, lawn gear, patio furniture, rugged inventory | Furniture, electronics, documents, photos, anything sensitive |
| Temperature | Tracks outdoor conditions | Roughly 55 to 80°F, humidity under 60%, year-round |
| Loading | Park directly at your roll-up door | Through the main entrance, carts available |
| Sizes | 8x20 (160 sq ft) | 5x5 up to 12x14 |
| Price | Lower, with 50% off the first full month right now | Flat, steady rates with climate control included |
Still deciding? Our climate-controlled vs standard storage comparison covers what belongs in each, including the cases where the cheaper standard unit is genuinely the better buy.
What fits in an 8x20 drive-up unit
160 square feet with a full-width roll-up door swallows more than most people expect.
- Contractors and trades. Power tools, ladders, scaffolding, materials, and job-site equipment, loaded straight from the truck bed.
- Household overflow. Garage contents, seasonal decorations, patio sets, mowers and lawn equipment, camping and hunting gear.
- Small business stock. Shelving-friendly inventory, event equipment, signage, and supplies that do not need climate protection.
- Moves and renovations. The boxed contents of a 2 to 3 bedroom home while you are between houses, with the sensitive items in an indoor climate unit a few steps away.
One thing we do not offer: vehicle storage. There is no car, RV, boat, or trailer parking or storage at Lifetime. Drive-up refers to how you load the unit, not to parking a vehicle inside one. Units are for household and business goods only.
Why rent your drive-up unit here and not in town
Wichita Falls has plenty of drive-up storage. Most of it is older, non-climate metal-building stock with office-hours service. Ours is different in ways that matter.
- New construction. The 8x20 units went in during 2026. Clean floors, tight door seals, no rust streaks or bent panels.
- 4.9-star rated. The highest-rated storage facility serving the Wichita Falls area, and the same care covers the drive-up row.
- Same-day online move-in, 24/7 access. Rent at 10pm on a Sunday and load that night. No office hours anywhere in the process.
- Both unit types, one property. Split a mixed load: rugged gear in the drive-up unit, sensitive items in a climate-controlled unit inside. One address, one bill, one short drive.
- Sheppard AFB convenience. About 10 miles from the main gate. PCS households use the drive-up units for garage and outdoor gear that does not need climate control.

Drive-up storage FAQ
What is a drive-up storage unit?
A drive-up storage unit is an outdoor unit you can park directly in front of, so you load and unload straight between your vehicle and the unit with no hallways, stairs, or carts. At Lifetime we rent 12 drive-up units, brand-new 8x20 steel container units (160 sq ft) installed in 2026, each with its own roll-up door. They sit outside our main climate-controlled building at 400 W Park Avenue in Iowa Park, about 10 minutes west of Wichita Falls.
How big are the drive-up units?
Each drive-up unit is 8 feet wide by 20 feet deep, which is 160 square feet, with a roll-up door on the 8-foot end. That is comparable to a standard 10x20 and holds the boxed contents of a 2 to 3 bedroom home, or a serious volume of tools, equipment, and business inventory. If you need something smaller, our indoor climate-controlled units run from 5x5 up to 12x14.
Are the drive-up units climate controlled?
No, and that is the point. The 8x20 drive-up containers are standard, non-climate storage priced below our indoor units, a budget-friendly choice for tools, equipment, lawn gear, patio furniture, and other rugged items that do not need temperature protection. For furniture, electronics, documents, photos, or anything sensitive, choose one of the 86 climate-controlled units inside the main building instead.
How much does a drive-up unit cost?
The live rate for the 8x20 drive-up units is always on our homepage, and they are priced below our indoor climate-controlled units. They currently come with 50% off your first full month, applied automatically at checkout with no code to enter. The only other cost is a one-time $20 admin fee at move-in. You bring your own lock, and a SafeLease tenant protection plan (from $12 per month) is included at checkout unless you provide proof of your own homeowner or renter insurance within 30 days.
Can I store a car, boat, RV, or trailer in a drive-up unit?
No. We do not offer vehicle, RV, boat, or trailer storage or parking at Lifetime. The drive-up units are for household and business goods only. "Drive-up" refers to how you load the unit: you park at the roll-up door and carry items straight in.
How does access to the drive-up units work?
The drive-up units sit outside the main building, so you park directly at your own roll-up door any time, day or night, 365 days a year. There is no office visit and no waiting: rent online in about 5 minutes, secure the unit with your own disc-style lock, and start loading the same day. The property is covered by 24/7 video surveillance with bright lighting.
Where are the drive-up units located?
At our facility at 400 W Park Avenue, Iowa Park, TX 76367, about 10 to 14 miles west of Wichita Falls along US-287, a 12 to 18 minute drive from most Wichita Falls neighborhoods. We serve Wichita Falls, Iowa Park, Holliday, Burkburnett, Electra, and Sheppard Air Force Base.
